The
Challenge
The Challenge
Uganda has one of the biggest population explosions and ultimately one of the youngest populations in the World. One of the biggest challenges associated with big population explosion most especially on the African Continent is the difficulty in having enough jobs to swallow the consistently big number of populations entering the employment age set.
This has inevitably forced majority of Ugandans most especially in the rural setting where access to employment is harder than towns, to start or run micro or livelihood enterprises in order to survive. Unfortunately, most of the Livelihood enterprises fall in infancy and those which survive infancy fail to run effectively due to lack of capacity on how to operate a livelihood enterprise (MSMEs) effectively. Majority of the livelihood enterprise owners are vulnerable groups with no knowledge of the business support services (BDS) that are critical to operating a livelihood enterprise successfully.
Uganda is experiencing a surge in mining projects, leading to the displacement of communities. While compensation is provided to Project Affected Persons (PAPs), there is often lack of support in utilizing these funds to sustainably improve their livelihoods. PAPs are not skilled on how to use the acquired compensation to create value that can sustainably earn a good livelihood. As a result, many of the PAPs face deteriorating living conditions post – project implementation.
Our
Approach
Our Approach
We equip vulnerable groups including Project Affected Persons, refugees and host communities with critical BDS to run profitable livelihood enterprises.
We work with a team of Partners including the Government of Uganda and International Development Agencies in the designing and implementation of our livelihood enhance programs. We deliver tailored BDS packages that drive maximum impact.
Impact
We have enabled Project Affected Persons, Refugee and host communities to live better lives through skilling them in our innovative and advanced BDS Packages, enhancing livelihood projects with tangible results.
